Surveys

Questionnaires + results.

Fields to fill, that write straight into the data.

Twenty-three people asked for Saturday opening unprompted. That is a decision input.

What it does

Behaviours, not fields. Choosing between two modules is choosing between these.

Asked of many so the answers can be counted, which is a different job from an intake form.

Responses shown as distributions, because the aggregate is the point.

Free-text answers are counted too, which is where the unexpected finding usually is.

How it works

  1. 1

Questions are published and answers collected over a period.

  2. 2

Answers are aggregated as distributions rather than shown individually.

  3. 3

Free-text answers are counted too, which is where the unexpected finding usually is.

  4. 4

Response counts are per question, so a drop-off partway through is visible.

Best for

Intake, applications, requests.

Not the right choice for

Anything a conversation collects better — which, here, is a lot.

What a row holds

Every field, and what the agent listens for to fill it — which is the difference between a page you type into and one that fills itself.

FieldTypeFilled from
QuestionrequiredtextWhat was asked, in the wording respondents saw.
ResponsesrequirednumberHow many answered this question. Varies per question, which matters.
Most commonrequiredtextThe modal answer with its share, because the aggregate is the point.

What it does not do

A module chosen for something it cannot do costs more than one that was never offered.

  • No cross-tabulation. You cannot ask how the repeat buyers answered question three.
  • No branching or conditional questions.
  • Anonymous by default, so a response cannot be followed up.
  • Small samples produce percentages that look authoritative and are not.

Before it works

What you have to provide, if anything.

  • Write fewer questions than you want. Response counts fall steeply after about five.
  • Pair with Segments if you need to know who answered rather than only what they said.

In practice

What was said to the agent

What the agent built

A four-question survey with 212 responses collected over three weeks.

What changed

Twenty-three people asked for Saturday opening unprompted, in a free-text field. Nothing else came close, and it was not on the list of options.

Questions

What data does the Surveys page use?

It reads submission records the agent has collected. Questionnaires + results. Nothing has to be imported first — the page appears once there is something to show.

Do I have to build or configure it?

No. You describe what you need in a sentence and the agent chooses the view and fills it. Custom pages exist for the cases no built-in view covers, and those are reviewed before they go live.

When is a form the wrong choice?

Anything a conversation collects better — which, here, is a lot. It is best for: intake, applications, requests.

Does it stay up to date?

Yes. The page is a view over the data rather than a copy of it, so anything the agent learns afterwards shows up without a rebuild or a re-import.

Ask for it in a sentence

You do not configure this page. You tell your agent what you need and it builds it from what it has already collected.
