What it does
Behaviours, not fields. Choosing between two modules is choosing between these.
Answers which one is nearest me, which is the question visitors actually have.
Carries the practical detail a pin cannot: hours, and the note that changes the visit.
Cash only and by appointment are why a place needs more than an address.
How it works

Each place is one row, added as it is mentioned or uploaded as a list.

The agent answers "where are you" and "which is nearest" from these rows.

Hours are text and compared loosely: the agent will say a place is probably closed, not assert it.

Adding a place changes what the agent says immediately, with no publish step.

What a row holds
Every field, and what the agent listens for to fill it — which is the difference between a page you type into and one that fills itself.

What it does not do
A module chosen for something it cannot do costs more than one that was never offered.
- CANNOT BE BUILT YET. The catalogue renders a preview; no DataModule type draws a map, so an agent cannot be given a working one.
- No geocoding even once it exists. An address is a string, so "nearest" means nearest in the list order unless coordinates are supplied.
- Hours are unstructured text. Nothing can compute whether a place is open right now.
- One row per place, so a venue with two entrances or seasonal hours needs two rows and a note.
Before it works
What you have to provide, if anything.
- Not currently possible. Use Facilities or Venues, which are a list and cards respectively, and both render today.
- When the map runtime lands it will need a latitude and longitude column, or a geocoding step at import.
In practice
A roaster with a shop, a production unit and a Sunday market stall.

What the agent built
A place with hours and a note the agent quotes when anyone asks where to find them.
What changed
People stopped arriving at the production unit expecting to buy coffee. The note did more than the map.
Better with
These do a different job on the same data. An agent can have all of them.
The business occupies more than one space under agreements that expire.
Spaces are offered or recommended, and the choice turns on capacity and facilities rather than location.
Someone travels between several places in one run and the sequence affects how long it takes.
This module cannot be built yet
A map needs coordinates and a projection; a dataset view has neither. Adding one means geocoding at import, a tile source, and a decision about who pays for it — which is why this is specified but not built. 13 of the 100 modules are in this position, and writing the requirement down is what stops it being rediscovered.

Answers “where is it” without a phone call, and takes bookings while the phones are busy.

Questions
What data does the Map / locations page use?
It reads place records the agent has collected. Pinned places. Nothing has to be imported first — the page appears once there is something to show.
Do I have to build or configure it?
No. You describe what you need in a sentence and the agent chooses the view and fills it. Custom pages exist for the cases no built-in view covers, and those are reviewed before they go live.
When is a map the wrong choice?
Data where location is incidental. It is best for: places, deliveries, catchments, anything geographic.
Does it stay up to date?
Yes. The page is a view over the data rather than a copy of it, so anything the agent learns afterwards shows up without a rebuild or a re-import.
