What it does
Behaviours, not fields. Choosing between two modules is choosing between these.
Forcing a single root makes you decide what the thing is actually about, which a free-form graph lets you avoid.
Depth is explicit, so a branch that has quietly become its own subject is visible.
Right when the breakdown is genuinely hierarchical, and wrong when it is not.

What a row holds
Every field, and what the agent listens for to fill it — which is the difference between a page you type into and one that fills itself.

What it does not do
A module chosen for something it cannot do costs more than one that was never offered.
- One root. A subject with two centres is an idea map, not a mind map.
- No cross-links between branches — that is the whole difference from a graph.
- Deep trees render poorly; past four levels it is a document.
- Nothing enforces that the tree is complete or balanced.

- Name the root first. Everything else follows from it.
- If you cannot name a single root, the subject wants Idea mapping.

Lease versus buy turned out to sit two levels down under money, not at the top. The order of the decisions changed.
Better with
These do a different job on the same data. An agent can have all of them.
Several ideas are in play, they relate to each other in more than one direction, and a list would flatten that.
Decisions get revisited, and nobody can remember whether an option was already considered and dismissed.
A quarter or a year has stated aims and progress against them needs checking more than once at the end.

Do I have to build or configure it?
No. You describe what you need in a sentence and the agent chooses the view and fills it. Custom pages exist for the cases no built-in view covers, and those are reviewed before they go live.

Does it stay up to date?
Yes. The page is a view over the data rather than a copy of it, so anything the agent learns afterwards shows up without a rebuild or a re-import.
