What it does
Behaviours, not fields. Choosing between two modules is choosing between these.
Versions and expiry dates, because using the wrong document has consequences a file store cannot prevent.
The expiry column is the reason this is not a folder — it turns storage into a warning.
Signed dates are recorded, so which version is in force is a fact rather than a search.

Expiry is compared against today, so an expired document is a state rather than a discovery.

The agent raises anything expiring soon in conversation rather than waiting to be asked.

Superseded versions stay, so which one was in force on a given date is answerable.
Best for
Reading and scanning. It is the right default more often than it looks.

What a row holds
Every field, and what the agent listens for to fill it — which is the difference between a page you type into and one that fills itself.

What it does not do
A module chosen for something it cannot do costs more than one that was never offered.
- It records documents; it does not sign or generate them.
- No reminders beyond the agent mentioning it — nothing emails anybody.
- Expiry is a date, so a document valid until a condition rather than a date does not fit.
- No access control per document. Everything here is as private as the dashboard.
Before it works
What you have to provide, if anything.
- Enter the expiry even when it feels distant. That column is the whole reason this exists.
- Pair with Reminders if the renewal needs chasing well in advance.

What changed
It had expired five days earlier. Nobody had noticed, and an inspection would have been the way they found out.
Better with
These do a different job on the same data. An agent can have all of them.
The business gets press attention, or wants to, and would rather not assemble logos and a boilerplate under deadline.
More than one person needs to know how something is done, and it currently lives in someone's head.
The failure mode is forgetting at the right time — renewals, follow-ups, anything with a date that arrives quietly.

What data does the Documents page use?
It reads document records the agent has collected. PDFs, contracts, files. Nothing has to be imported first — the page appears once there is something to show.
Do I have to build or configure it?
No. You describe what you need in a sentence and the agent chooses the view and fills it. Custom pages exist for the cases no built-in view covers, and those are reviewed before they go live.
When is a list the wrong choice?
Comparing many fields at once — use a table. It is best for: reading and scanning. It is the right default more often than it looks.
Does it stay up to date?
Yes. The page is a view over the data rather than a copy of it, so anything the agent learns afterwards shows up without a rebuild or a re-import.
